Naina Devi Temple- This temple is at the naini lake on the northern shore. The holy goddess of this holy place is Mata Naina Devi who represented by two of her Netras or can say eyes. Neighboring of the mata Naina Devi are the goddess of Mata Kali and Lod Ganesha. It is `believed that the nanital is to be one of the 64 Shaktipeeths, where the body parts of Goddess Sati fell, when the Lord Shiva accepted her body. It is assmuse that the eyes of the Goddess naina devi are unspecified to have fallen.
The place of worship of Naina Devi is visited by Hindus. It was smashed in the 1880 landslide and was reconstructed. The view from the temple is amazing and have overlooking the lake.

There is a church St. John in the Wilderness, which is well-known in 1844 and is situated on the north end of town (which is Mallital), it is near about half a mile north-west of the Naina Devi temple.
The church famous by the named by Daniel Wilson, the Bishop of Calcutta, who following declining ill through a stay to Nainital in 1844 to put down the base of the church, was grateful to slumber in an incomplete residence on the border of the jungle.
